My passion is web-based UI design, although it is a tough business. Because mostly within the first 500 milliseconds the user decides if the website appeals to him or not. Especially the design is decisive for the success of this initial contact. But what makes good UI design?
Good UI design is subtle and minimalistic, without visual noise, so as not to distract from the actual functions. Good functionality creates a positive experience that stays in the user's mind. Functionality requires a conclusive navigation/user guidance, which in turn creates trust towards the website or the designer/developer.
